Carbon steel DOT Class 106A
forge-welded multi-unit tank car tanks or “ton tanks” for chlorine or
other aggressive gases, such as anhydrous ammonia and sulfur dioxide.
Columbiana
DOT-106A containers have the exclusive safety-engineered feature of
“inverted heads”—if a container is accidentally over-pressurized, the
heads will reverse (become convex), providing an immediate visual
indication of over-pressurization. The reversed heads also create
additional capacity to reduce the pressure and provide valuable time
for corrective action.
DOT 110A Series
DOT Class 110A fusion-welded multi-unit tank car tanks or “ton tanks” for compressed gases such as refrigerant gases and fire-extinguishing gases, and or PIH materials such as hydrazine and nitrogen tetroxide.
Standard test pressure of 500, 800, 1000 and 2000 psi (35, 55, 70 and 140 bar in metric models). Standard capacities of 193 or 212 US water gallons (732 or 803 liters) and custom capacities up to 250 US water gallons (946 liters). Gas-tight bonnets over the service valves are available. US CAA to the IMDG Code for international acceptance.
Training End
Fire departments and other hazardous materials teams can now practice “hands on” emergency procedures using the Chlorine Institute’s Emergency Kit “B” on this Training End.
Columbiana Boiler, LLC Training End is an actual full size end of the Standard DOT 106A500X chlorine ton container, mounted on a support base. This allows hazardous materials crews to easily practice applying the component parts of the Emergency Kit “B”.
CBC Protective End Covers
Columbiana Boiler Company now manufactures an end cover assembly that can be used as an added layer of security against unauthorized access to the valves and plugs of DOT 106A500 ton containers. These covers may be used to provide additional security during shipment, storage, or in any other situation where tampering or the malicious release of chlorine gas is a concern. In addition, end covers may be used to deter the possible introduction of contaminants into empty containers.
Important Features: Rigid construction with internal locking device. Unique wrench required to install and to remove cover. Emergency removal possible with Chlorine Institute B Kit. Will not inhibit relieving capacity as provided by fusible plugs. Will accommodate tamper seals.
